you can do it! a few years back i went through all my craft stuff (which is 99% yarn, tbh) and gave away all the things that i’d been hanging on to and secretly didn’t want to use, and all the things that i didn’t actually *like*, and… it was surprisingly liberating, and the friend who took most of it has used some of it to make lovely things! i’m sure that the charity shop or women’s shelter or friends or whomever takes your cast-offs will be pleased with them. ❤

My Mum’s taking all the machine-washable stuff, and one of my aunts is taking the felting wools. Mum crochets blankets all year round and gives most of them to charity, and she is constantly turning donated yarn into donated finished items.

Left: works in progress oh dear. I am going to finish that pile entirely before starting any new projects. On the right: materials and tools for future projects. Nearly all sock yarn and laceweight. I’ve been using up most of my 8-ply stash over the last few years making hats, blankets, facewashers and xmas stockings. Also made lots of felted bowls and bags out of felting yarn. There’s still a fair bit of felting yarn left but I am giving it all away. Most of the machine-washable 8 ply has been knitted up, and what’s left is going to Mum. Still too much in the works-in-progess pile, but at least I know what’s there now. #konmari

All the crafting stuff. Argh help. I keep thinking of more things. Have just remembered that my blocking boards are outside on the porch. Going to grab them. Eris has decided they want the sewing machine so I haven’t pulled it out. I am a little afraid. But these things are finite and I can let most of them go. #konmari
